There is yawning error on the family tree for my family - clearly made some time ago. I have put a few notes on it but would love to see it corrected but there doesnt seem to be a way to have this done. Any ideas?

I have the correction and can fully justify and evidence the error.

You can correct any error in Family Tree all by yourself but it can be hard at times to find the right spot to click on. The most common thing for people to over look are the pencil icons for editing information and relationships. Post what type of error you need to fix and I'll post an example of how to do so.

    Hello,

I too have been finding people who have edited my data with erroneous records (or lack thereof).

Do you know of any recourse or method for correcting the data? I have found that gggrandfather has been given a new first name. No citation that would prove that.

It is also very interesting to find that I have a younger sister that no one in the family ever mentioned. (Because of errors).

The FamilySearch Family Tree is fully open-edit, Wiki-style. Every change is logged; every change can be corrected/edited/reversed. You have the option to contact other contributors through the private messaging system or you can reverse/correct any errors. If you're new to the FamilySearch Family Tree, there are regular webinars with basic instructions and many help articles with step-by-steps. You can also ask for help here in the Community if you're uncomfortable making changes.

I made a mistake in entering information and I've done everything the directions for remove or replace incorrect spouses say to do. But the directions say "in the Family Members section, find Spouses and Children. In the box that shows the marriage you want to remove, click the pencil icon". The problem is, there is no pencil icon. Now what???

Are you on the Details page? The pencil icon is next to the Marriage.

If you're on the "About" page, there's no pencil. Click the tab to go to the Details page.

I have just received some erroneous information. Amelia Skerritt was on my mother’s side of the family. Pricilla Church Perrin was on my father’s side of the family. My father was Oscar. Pricilla Church Perrin had four sons and four daughters and perhaps one more child born who did not survive. There was no Lilly. Jim Perrin is a cousin and son of Glen Perrin. He is not a child of Pricilla. Please correct this information

    @Edith Claire Perrin

You will need to provide more details of how this information was received. FamilySearch sometimes notifies us of details of assumed family members by email, or this could appear within the pages of your FamilySearch account.

Assuming this information can be corrected, nobody can easily identify "Lilly" from the details you have provided, nor see the branch of individuals to which you refer. If you are referring to errors within Family Tree, users are responsible for correcting these themselves. If you do not know how to make the necessary adjustments relating to incorrect relationships, please provide the exact details (ID references, etc.) and I'm sure someone will be willing to assist.

The page featuring my grandmother Rosette Frances "Sissy" Jordan nee Vickers

has several incorrect statements. She was not buried in St. Croix, indeed she has never

been there, and she did not have the number of children listed and only one was the child of Clement Jordan

here husband. This is discouraging and makes me want to delete the account.

Whoever did this is on the wrong trail.

Alice Dupre, born English, and Stella Wood, born Hudgin, were both born in Richmond township in Lennox & Addington county, Ontario, Canada. You have them both born at Richmond, in Ottawa-Carleton, Ontario, Canada.

How do you correct an error where an adopted child is listed as biological?

@EarlWalker1, on the profile details page of either the parent or child, find where the child is listed under the adoptive parents and click the pencil (edit) button after the child's name. In the resulting popup, click the "Add Relationship Type" button under the adoptive parent, and choose "Adoptive" from the list.

@CarolWhyte1, you will have to be more specific about what information is incorrect and where the issue exists. Maybe this knowledge article can get you started.
