Possible to hide information from a person while they're alive?

So I have had this account for years but recently decided to start creating my family tree. To my surprise someone has already connected so much information. The issue Is I see a family member that I personally know also on this website, I would like to hide all the information of that I place on my branch of the family tree from that certain person at least until they pass away. The reason for this is they are truly a terrible person and I wouldn't want them to be able to search for my family members.

On FamilySearch's Family Tree, profiles for living people are only visible to the account that entered them, but profiles for the deceased are shared and open-edit. It's a communal tree: the lofty and distant goal is one and only one profile per deceased person.

Thus, if there is information about your deceased relatives that you want to keep private, then FamilySearch's Family Tree is not suited to your purpose. (In my opinion, it's not suited to the purpose even if the information is about living people: yes, FS keeps them private, but stuff happens. The best way to protect private data online is to not put it online in the first place.)

Look carefully to see if this person has marked any members of your family as "Deceased" when they are still very much alive. You can change the status to "Living" but you will have to provide some sort of evidence to support this, following which an administrator will fix the status as "Living" and the privacy of details relating to any such individual will be maintained. (That is, only the person who created the profile in question will be able to view it.)
