Adjusting Picture on Profile Page
For the most part, the new program works very well. The Memories section could use some tweaking. Formerly, to adjust a picture on the person page (from a belt buckle to a face), you simply tapped the circle and chose what you wanted to do. Now, tapping the picture takes you to all the Memories, & you have to search for the "belt buckle". when you find it and center the face and save it...the face is turned sideways, or you get a shoulder, and is nothing like what you saved. Am I doing something wrong?

@FrancesPrice1 Are you doing something wrong? Not sure - it doesn't sound like you are.
When you are adding a profile photo you should see 3 tabs: PHOTOS, UPLOAD PHOTO, SELECT FROM GALLERY
If you already have photos on the profile and are wanting to change the default profile photo you use the PHOTOS tab and select the photo you want to use. Usually it will not take you to the Memories Gallery (unless you use the SELECT FROM GALLERY tab) - so I am not sure what you mean.
I am not seeing that the SELECT FROM GALLERY is default for profile portraits that do not have photos uploaded/attached - so I don't think it should take you to GALLERY by default.
The above image is what a default female profile with no portrait/photos added looks like. If you are choosing TAG PHOTOS OF ... button - then yes - it takes you to SELECT FROM GALLERY. However, If you select the UPLOAD A PHOTO link - it takes you to the first image - UPLOAD A PHOTO tab - where you can Drop or SELECT FROM COMPUTER.
If there are problems with a photo rotating right or left - it should be resolvable with the Rotate button:
However I have seen that profile portrait Rotate may not work properly or you may need to edit the photo by downloading the one from the Gallery to your computer and edit in an image editor - re-upload the photo and select it as the portrait (with permission from the original uploader if required).
Hope that helps.

genthusiast No the poster is not doing anything wrong. The little rotate icon has no affect on the image. Also this has been reported numerous times. Apparently it is a bug. I have a second great grandfather whose portrait is curiously modern because of this bug, Oliver Smith 9KDL-7M8.
I have offered a theory in several posts, and I think it has been passed on. When I originally uploaded the image of Oliver, it was way before the new person page (uploaded 2 Mar 2019), and I recall I had to rotate his portrait to display properly in memories and it displayed properly as the person portrait after that. All was good until the new person page came along and the portrait began displaying sideways. Thus, I believe the programming for portraits is not pointing to the adjusted image, it is pointing to the original image. The little rotate icon will not make Oliver's image rotate. I can click it all I want and there is no impact.
In at least one of the posts, someone indicated the issue was being passed along to the engineers - I think this is also discussed in the Memories group.
@FrancesPrice1 I also think I read somewhere that if you delete your image from your gallery and upload another version where it has been manipulated to the right position ahead of time, that will fix it. I myself am leaving dear great grandpa as he is so I can test any fixes.

Gail Swihart Watson glad you confirm the diagnosis and the remedy.
Yes the conversation should take place in new person page group - so engineers can see how many people are being affected.

The rotate icon is a click/drag activated action - but it still did not work to resolve a rotated image.
