Indexing US, Ohio—Stillbirth (Birth) Records, 1931–1953 [Part D]
Please read and follow project instructions and samples. On review, Mistakes found in every batch are 1) Place of Stillbirth - must index city/town, county, state, like this: Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio. 2) Child's Given Name ---- the words "Baby Girl/Boy, Stillborn or Infant" are not names and should be marked <blank> 3) Color or Race --- The letter "C" stands for "Colored" and should not be marked as African American or any other race/ethnicity of color. Use the drop-down list for race - W means White. 4) The File Number 00444 should be marked "444" - do not index the zeros to the left of the number given. These batches are easy and quick to finish. Thanks for your enthusiasm and for taking time to "do it right."😎

@maryellenstevensbarnes1, this is, sadly, not a new occurrence. There have been a lot of mistakes in the easy/beginner batches for at least a year now. The Cook County project really irked me.

@erutherford - Yes, and the only reason I created this post is because I keep hoping new indexers and their teachers will read this forum regularly and watch for these items to be addressed or at least ask questions😎

One other thing... on some forms near the bottom it has the name of the mother, where her married name is given. When her married name is given, that surname is entered into the mother's surname field after the maiden name.
