Please excuse me if I have missed this, But I cannot see that there is a reply to individual posts. Example:

I ask a question. Lets say 3 people respond. Unfortunately I cannot reply individually to each comment. I have to put my reply to the comments under all the 3 replies. This can make it a little confusing and less granular in responses. I would like to reply individually to each response.

Again, may you will say you have this and I have missed it. But I cannot see it.

Regards

Colin

@ColinM0288 You are correct. This software only allows for linear, not branching discussions. So the best you can do to answer individual comments is to address each individual separately. To make it clear that is what you are doing,, you could use some type of divider.

    *********

@Gordon Collett, Thank you for your comments .....

    ********

@ Someone Else, You stated that .........

    ********

@ A Third Person, Great idea!.......

@ColinM0288 You can also use the quote feature to refer to a specific comment or commenter. The quote tab underneath a comment will quote the full comment. There is also a quote feature to pull just one portion of a comment, to save space. When you are typing, it's a sub-portion of the paragraph marker in the left margin.

Another option is to send a private message to the commenter. (Click the name and choose Message.) You may want to include a link to the thread you're talking about.

Thanks yes maybe the individual comment quote is good.

I'm very hesitant to send individuals private messages. Maybe I should not be? I'm probably too sensitive, I don't know why, but people have lives to live and sending an individual message seems intrusive, like "Hey you talk to me" . Like they have nothing else to do but to respond to my silly inquiries. I learned some things in Kindergarten like, share, be nice, put your toy back. Messaging and comments, was not on the curriculum. If i were on a hike with a group and there was a rock in my shoe I would probably prefer to have a bleeding foot than ask everyone else to stop and wait for me.

    Dumb huh.

    Thanks.

"quote" is the way to go

and then that person knows you are directly focusing on their comment

and that person can then message you directly if they wish - or you can include a comment in your message like "message me directly if you wish to learn more..."

a direct message is a little more invasive like you say - - - but people still dont get "pinged directly" - they can quite easily just ignore it . . . . so in my mind its not really that invasive (the way a phone call or knock at the door is invasive) - they DONT have to talk to you . . . either at that moment - or never if they dont want to.

Thanks. Funny yes like a phone call or door knock, problem is Im one of those who always answer the door, and use to answer the phone. Although now, sadly dont answer the phone always, too much dumbness over the phone these days.

Thanks a lot for your thoughts on this.

    Regards

PS Who knew a family bible could type.
