Ordinance ready names

The past several years, members have been encouraged to take their own family names to the temple to do the work. Many have had difficulty doing the search and give up quickly. However, the Ordinance ready function has been wonderful for those who can’t or won’t do the research. However, as a temple worker (and patron) I feel a need for a software change.

An individual is allowed to make THREE appointment reservations for each ordinance. However, only one appointment of names is available through the search function. (e.g. one for endowments, five for initiatory). If a second search is done, the same name(s) are returned and no more names are available until those are recorded. We have many patrons who want to do multiple ordinances who would appreciate doing family names but is not convenient to do one, get it recorded, then go out of the temple to request another name and make it to the next session.

We need to match the names available to the appointments available and this should be an easy programming change. You could simply allow for three appointments worth of names to be given or make a drop down menu with the option to select 1,2 or3 appointments worth of names.

I understand in the past that some people have reserved more names than they could ever do ordinances for, but three appointments won’t kill the database and you do have expiration date on those reservations.

Thanks for listening
