Add relationships for “friends”
Most people have friends that are important parts of their lives. A friend may be the only person willing and able to write the life history of a person. For example, someone who has no close relatives (or doesn’t know who they are).
Thus I suggest you add to other relationships “boyfriend”, “ girlfriend”, and “friend”. Such relationships should be explained in Memories, etc.

Seems like a valid point - if "Employment" and "Neighbor" are options, why not "Friend" - "Close", "Best", or otherwise?

I think the "Neighbor" relationship should be expanded to the entire "FAN club": friends, associates, and neighbors. In the meantime, I would simply use the Neighbor option as if it were an abbreviation for the full list.

Yes, I agree with @Paul W . Friend. Unless you were born after 2000, you don't have boyfriends or girlfriends. In fact, the concept of middle aged or older people "dating" is so recent it has the English language struggling to adapt. "Significant other" is emerging as a top contender but people still often use air quote when they say it.
Back to the other types of relationships, I wonder why they can't just put a "fill in the blank" text box for an "other" choice. "Business associate" is closer to many relationships I have discovered with my ancestors than "Employment". I would also use "friend" a lot. I'm sure there are many unique relationships that could be genealogically significant in certain situations, such as "classmates" or "served in military together".
