Birth Registrations - UK
Could 'Birth Registrations' search results be somehow separated from 'Christenings' or 'Baptisms'?
Birth Registrations give virtually no information whatsoever! No parents name to even identify the child born.
It is very annoying to search for a 'birth, baptism and christening' and have an entire page or 20 or 'birth registrations' with no information.
Thank you

I just looked for one of my standard names in Cheshire and got a load from the England and Wales Birth Registration Index, 1837-2008, followed by a number from the England, Cheshire, School Records, 1796-1950 - which is a slightly liberal interpretation of birth, baptism and christening 😉 Baptisms start to appear on p.4.
To get rid of the above, I'd suggest clicking the Collection button then selecting collections to exclude things like England and Wales Birth Registration Index, 1837-2008 and England, Cheshire, School Records, 1796-1950.
That way you'll get baptisms.
It's actually slightly difficult for me to see how else anyone could filter out those Birth Registrations. You can't exclude birth events because there are a number of sources that are similar to parish registers but contain masses of birth events.
I have a slightly different problem with baptisms for Cheshire - I always start by excluding England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 because the great majority of those events are in England, Cheshire Parish Registers, 1538-2000 but in greater detail. So again, it's something that only works if I know the collections and exclude some.

When searching for a needle in a haystack, it can be useful to start with a smaller haystack. The FamilySearch historical record databases have gotten so huge, I try to avoid general searches. There is just too much information available for that to be useful.
One way to narrow down your search is to use the Find a Collection feature:
You can either type in a collection name to find that one collection you want to search:
Or use Browse All Collections and filter that list:
Clicking on the collection title lets you search just that one record set.
Or you can use the Search By Place feature:
which brings you to a similar list.
