Please cause images I click on to open in a new tab, not replace the tab I was already using.
When I am in a person's page, and I click on an image in their sources, the image opens in the the same tab, thus replacing the page of the FamilySearch person I was viewing.
I can't make any comparisons that way. In the previous format, images would open in a new tab.
Could we please have that back again. I like to flip back and forth seeing if it matches.

I agree that buttons (such as images) should act like buttons, not like links. Unfortunately, FS's website is full of unpredictable click behavior, so it's generally a good idea here to get into the habit of first trying a right-click on everything. (Or your OS's equivalent of a right-click.) If that results in your browser's shortcut menu popup (which usually starts with forward/back/refresh), then you'll know that the link/button is acting like a button, which usually opens a popup, sidebar, or new tab. If the link/button is acting like a link, then right-clicking will result in your browser's link menu, which usually starts with "open link in new tab".

Thank you Julia, that's very useful to know. That works, I just tried it. Your suggestion is brilliant.
I was about to ask you for the solution to another problem but your suggestion works with that as well. It solves the problem I was having with reviewing Possible Duplicates. I think that needs to be posted as a solution for others to see, because they may have been using the same method that I used and would now be running into the same problem. I need you to do that, because I'm not sure how to use this community. Any time I successfully post something it's sheer good luck and quite by accident.
Here's the problem I did have but you've given me the solution
I used to click on the Possible Duplicate box, it would shoot out into the page, then I would click on the name of the person in the box and that person's page would open in a new tab so that I could examine everything in their page.
Because it doesn't operate that way any more, when I clicked on the possible duplicate it replaced the primary person record with the duplicate person record because it opened in the same tab I had been sitting in.
Could you please post the idea as a solution to that problem.

I usually hold the "control" key down while clicking on anything that I want to open in a new tab. That seems to work for most applications. I didn't know about "right-clicking".

Thankyou LSHS6 for that suggestion. It is the only thing that works to open the image in one of the person's attached sources. You are a life saver.
However I wonder why FamilySearch isn't listening because surely they would have thought of that and come to the rescue. I have been struggling all day with having to open a person in two different tabs to use my method.

I'm glad it helped you. :)
I learned it from Ron Turner on one of his YouTube Q&A videos. However, it isn't an FS thing. It is a computer operation using the Control key. It can be used on other websites.
