FS account connection to LDS church account

My apologies if this is not the right place to ask a question, but I was not able to find anywhere else. As I remember, my family search account was created using my LDS member ID. If I was to resign from the LDS church in the future, will I still have my Family Search account and all the tree information or would it all be deleted?

FamilySearch is free to everyone, everywhere. Your LDS membership also allows you to see temple ordinance data, and to use Ancestry and other premium websites for free.

Plus FamilySearch is a global family tree, so you do not have "your own" tree, as you might on another site. The purpose of FS is to tie us all together.
