Iowa WWI Application has Wrong Template
I have a batch that came up with a Living Service Man (Form 1) to index, but the actual form is for a Deceased Service Man (Form 2) and therefore has the wrong fields. I can't for the life of me figure out how to change it. What should I do here?
Batch is US, Iowa—WWI Applications, 1923–1927 [Part J][MQ7S-G7T]
Thank you for your help.

I'm following this because I have the same question.
Edited to add: I've switched to Part K of the same document type and it asks for an "Entry Type" where you can mark Living or Deceased. It appears that that field is missing in Part J.

Mine is the opposite of the above they should have used the deceased form but used form 1 instead instead of form2. How do I get the right form to do it Over?

There is a problem with the project. A moderator needs to report this to Indexing Operations. I'm going to tag @PiperTWilson because I have lost track of who is the moderator for Indexing.
There should be an entry with a second form as shown in the examples that has death dates and other information.
In the meantime, if I were working on this project, I would use "Return Batch" and select another one until the problem is resolved. I would not mark these No, No Extractable Data, or use the application form.

@Melissa S Himes Did we ever know who was the mod for any category? I know I've asked repeatedly for such detail and been told such a list could not be posted because things change too often. @Maile L Can you assist, please?

@Áine Ní Donnghaile Yes, we did.
Before this page was created and we had Indexing Chat, we not only knew who the moderator was, but, could send her a private message and get things straightened out in a day. If it was a huge issue, it might take two days.
Then "they" decided to eliminate that successful system, and created this page. In the beginning of the community pages, people had MOD next to their names so you could identify moderators. There really is no success in repeatedly changing people around, and not having trained indexing personnel with direct connections to "headquarters" monitoring the page. Kind of like a life raft with no beacons...

Yes, we had indexing chat. I'm talking about HERE in the Community, where we have mods who have certain responsibilities, but we only figure that out by noticing which questions they answer.
People still have Mod next to their names here, but some who were Mods are no longer. I've had private messages from some who have told me when they are no longer a Mod, because the Mission is completed.

Here in the community, we had Mods with Mod next to their names. Now we don't seem to have any, or they simply aren't very active. It is unfortunate. This should not be about "a Mission". There needs to be people who know all the indexing rules and are in contact with IO on this page every day. I'm not even a church member, but, it has been my Mission to help people learn to index and answer their questions for a decade.

I'm telling you what a former Mod wrote to me in a private message. Obviously I won't use names. The former mod said the mission was completed and was waiting for Mod to be removed from the profile before posting again. That was by way of explaining why the person had not responded to my post where I had tagged the person.
If you look at profiles, you will see the word Mod next to the names of several known mods.

If there is a mod in this category, I do not know who it is. I am a general mod for all the community. I will see who I can get to look at this.

Thank you @Maile L

The project is gone, so it either was taken down for improvement, or it was finished as quickly as all the Iowa beginner projects seem to be moving.
If there isn't a Moderator in this category, then that is something that needs to be addressed too, @Maile L
If any community page needs one, it would Indexing - especially since the indexing help function is Community Help.
