Do you think that research logs, family group sheets, compared to the family search tree.

Research logs, family group sheets, and pedigree charts compared to the things offered on the family search website, or ancestry, such as the family tree, details page, and sources page. Ran out of space to type all of that in the question box.

What you call the "question box" is just for the title you want to use. You can then write many paragraphs to explain your question or problem.

I'm not sure I understand your question.

Yes I think they compare - those are paper files of long ago versus the computer/digital of today. The main difference in comparison being collaboration - if files are digital they are much easier to share.

I like to use a third party software for my lines that I work. It produces charts like group sheets or pedigrees, if I ever need them. It has a place to keeps logs and to do lists but I don't use those. I keep all my research logs and research plans separate from any database. I use what is on my database to "share" info back to the Family Tree. That way, when a change is made by another user, I can compare what I had and evaluate the accuracy of the other person's data.
