End of Life and Old Photographs....

As we have been the keepers of family facts, memories and photographs but now old ourselves, what do we do? ....We don't have the ability/time to scan-upload and document these histories. When we pass all will most likely go to the dumpster and lost forever.

Even our distant young family members do not care currently. Yet someone like us may someday value what may be lost at our passing.

Ps. We've certainly enjoy the photographs, memories and histories of those we don't even know. ♡

    Bob,

There are several businesses out there that will scan and digitize your photos for you. Generally the way it works, is they give you a quote, you send them the originals, then they will scan them and give you the originals back along with digital copies.

Regarding family facts and memories, if you don’t have these recorded in journals already you may consider getting these down on paper. If you type out key memories/facts using some type of word processor, you can upload all of these documents (including your pictures) into some cloud device where they can reside…forever. Letting your descendants know where they are provides them an opportunity to access it in a future date when they will inevitably seek after their kindred dead and then be most grateful for the efforts you made.

consider a service project opportunity -

If you are LDS where a youth of your ward or stake - working as a volunteer can help you scan and upload items to FS Memories. Maybe talk to Young Men or Young Women Leader

If you are not LDS - consider friends, neighbors, extended family - who might be willing to help you preserve this material - someone who has computer expertise - maybe even a local Scout troop eagle project.
