TIP: Joining multiple image items into ONE single file for upload to FS MEMORIES
Many people (using FS MEMORIES) are under the assumption that each individual scan/photo they have is uploaded as a separate item to "Memories" and cannot be uploaded as a SET of items (such as pages of a document). Although this is the way many people use the system - there ARE INDEED ways to link multiple items into a single ordered file before upload to FamilySearch Memories.
First, lets discuss image files (jpg/png etc.)
if you have a set of image files on your local device that all belong together as a set of items - you can merge these images into a single pdf file - that can then be uploaded as one file to FS Memories.
here are various ways you can do that - most of them very easy
1) Import the images into a word processor (like WORD) - format them as you wish - ensuring that each image is adjusted to fit on a single page if needed). Adjust the order as needed. Then simply save/print to PDF.
2) On a Windows OS - from your File Explorer - simply select the multiple items and then "right click" PRINT - and then Print to PDF (normally there will be options to control Portrait vs. Landscape and other similar options). There is normally an option to "Fit to Frame" (which is often better to "un-select" )
3) Use a pdf utility like ILOVEPDF to merge multiple images into one. see: https://www.ilovepdf.com/jpg_to_pdf
Once you have a PDF version of the set of images - simply upload that ONE file to FS Memories.
Merging multiple PDF files (versus jpg files discussed above) is a bit more complicated - but not much more complicated - if you use a PDF tool like ILOVEPDF
see: https://www.ilovepdf.com/merge_pdf
See numerous other PDF options at ILOVEPDF - including an incredibly useful one to COMPRESS files - so that you can get under the 15MB FamilySearch limit.
any questions from anyone??
