How do I merge two people if FamilySearch doesn't suggest it?
IIRC there used to be the ability to force a merge between two people even if the FamilySearch bots didn't find a dupe. Now it seems you can only merge if the suggestion shows up in "Research Help".
Can a user still force a merge?
OTOH I can just be patient, sometimes it takes the bots weeks to discover a possible dupe.

Absolutely still possible to make a merge that is not suggested. Most of the merges I make are not suggested by the algorithm. This help article should be useful: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-merge-duplicates-in-family-tree-by-id

Yup, as Áine indicates, "Merge by ID" is still exactly where it has always been, under Tools on a profile's Details page.

@WS86 for some of us that are not in your age category, we don't know what your acronyms mean 😂
I had to google it. Perhaps, use the words for us oldies here. 😊

@Shannon Potter Wilcox I'm in the ancient over-the-hill category, and I know On the Other Hand and If I Recall Correctly.
