Ink Used to print male cards

Could the male card be modified to a gray background (behind the male word and symbol) rather than a black one to conserve ink? We are printing each card multiple times and the ink cartridges are being drained on black ink and especially along the strip of the male emblem.

Thank you for your consideration!

Have you tried printing in "Draft"? I set the printer preference to "draft" (or the comparable word) and the card still prints readable enough for the bar or QR code to be scanned at the temple.
