How do you record a child that was born to an unwed mother but biological father is known?

The son was adopted but kept biological father's name as a middle name. Death certificate revealed identity of biological father. Information for death certificate was supplied by spouse of the deceased. Match was made through DNA testing.

    There are two ways:

    • You can make sure the slider "show all family members" is on, then click "add parent" to add the other parent with absolutely no relationship to the other parent. This is what you might do if the child was born from a "one night stand", for example.

    • Alternately, you can list the child with the biological parents as related to each other; not married, of course, but there is an available Event type of "Lived Together".
