On this type of record the indexer is not entering every line on the form. They are leaving out those that have the same name and date of sale even if the receipt & certification numbers are different. Do I correct this by adding another line to the entry form?

Thanks for sharing your batch. Since the names and dates are the same, and we are not indexing the receipt or certification numbers, the indexer only needs to record the information once.

In other projects, even if the indexer creates entries that have the same name and date of sale, the computer will delete exact duplicate entries when the batch is submitted. I would guess the same happens here.

The indexer did fail to add the names in the To Whom Patented Column to the record, so those need to be added. That might cause some of the records not to be exact duplicates and you will need to create another record in those cases.

    • Create an entry for every separate transaction, even if the name is the same. If a transaction was between more than 2 people, create additional entries to index all recorded names. If any person's name is listed in the "By Whom Patented Column," the names should be indexed in the Other name fields.
