Tasks: comparing and attaching - the layout is VERY confusing
Hello,
I have included a screen shot......even though I am an engineer and work on complex projects but must say that I find this entire area of your site extremely confusing. Don't get me wrong, love you guys and all that you do for the globe, and I am fairly new to the site. I am very frustrated on both the Mobil app and the desktop version......it feels / looks too busy without any real direction about what the suggested things are we to do- so much so that I have nearly 100 of these items to address and am giving up. I certainly do not want to attach to just attach, I thrive on accuracy! Thanks for your consideration! Best, Sherri

@SherriPeak1 Although it may initially be confusing I find the layout fairly self-explanatory or easy to get used to. Here is the same screenshot including some hopefully explanatory notations for the Source Linker interface (which is attaching the historical record to the Family Tree to provide supplementary evidence of the profile relationships and conclusions):
Once you are done Comparing the record to the Tree profiles and either Attaching or deciding the record does not match - you can click Return to Record or Return to Family Tree button or close the tab.
Hope that helps a bit. 99 more items to go - don't give up!

I can see why you're a bit confused if you only ever get to Source Linker starting from the homepage's Tasks/Hints list: as flexible and quick as the tool is for attaching index entries to profiles, it's not a good place for evaluating said attachments, since it does not show complete information on either side.
I usually get to Source linker from either the profile or the index entry, not an intermediary like the homepage or a search results list, and I only do so after opening the index entry, its originating image, and the profile(s) all in separate browser tabs, so that I can determine whether the source is a match. If I determine that yes, the source indexed here is talking about this person (or these people), then I open Source Linker (in yet another tab) and use it to make the attachments. Sometimes this takes a few thwacks, especially if there are indexing errors, but I have never encountered an indexed record that could not be attached to the correct profiles using Source Linker.
