Rußland, St. Petersburg—Evangelisch-Lutherisches Konsistorium, Kirchenbücher, 1833–1885[MSS4-Z6Q]

On #252, 253, 254, there are accents over the 'a,' 'u,' and 'o.' I'm unsure on the International Characters chart which accent the swiggles represent. Please indicate below on the Names they are with. This would help me learn the correct German accent to use.

Also, in #254, does it say: Catharina, daughter of (occupation--maybe and herb farmer) David Johannssohn Raikoin?

Thanks so much for your help and knowledge!

Elaine

While the form is printed in German, the names and accents are not German.

The names do not look German--more Scandinavian or other--but where it is in with the Germans from Russia records, would I leave the accents off or on for indexing?

    Thanks, Elaine

I need help with the translation of names on #256 and #257. I'm not sure if the given name of the father on #256 should be Thomas Isaachssohn and surname, Hannakain. And on #257 if Catharina Georgs Y. Kiuru (?) means her maiden name is Kiuru. Would it be: first name: Catharina Georgs, and surname: Kiuru?

    Thanks, Elaine

The German Research Group is probably a better place to post. https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/88-germany-research

The German community is the best place to post your question. Attach an image of the record and the link to the record's online location, if possible. You should get a response in just a few days.

Even when it is an indexing question should I go to the German Group?
