Is this really my third great grandfather's wife?

My 90 year old aunt recently called me and said that she was informed of a "new wife" on FamilySearch of her grandfather. Albert Brown Thomas, KWCV-9Q9 and Lucy Eleanor Diadem Richardson KWVR-J2P are listed as being married. We are aware that he was a polygamist and that he had two wives but we can't find records of this third wife. Can someone help me determine if this is an error and if she has been linked incorrectly?

    Hi Mary,

    Thank you for your message.

I would contact the person who added the marriage event to see if they can give you the information that you need to confirm this. The link below gives you steps on how to do this.

Looking at Albert's information his marriage to Lucy was entered on 31 Oct 2107. If you look at the marriage information you will find a link to the person who made this change.

    I hope this helps!

The temple record shows the sealing of Albert Brown Thomas KWCV-9Q9 and Lucy Eleanor Diadem Richardson KWVR-J2P took place on 17 Apr 1890 in the Manti Utah Temple. The record shows Lucy Eleanor Diadem Richardson was dead at the time of the sealing. Her person page in Family Tree confirms she died in 1887.

In the early days of the Church, it was common practice for women who had not married or been sealed while they were living to be sealed by proxy to priesthood holders after the women had died. The purpose of Family Tree is to record actual family relationships. The relationships recorded in Family Tree should be genealogically accurate. You do not need to record these sealing-only relationships in Family Tree. If you delete the relationship to these women in Family Tree, the sealing to spouse ordinances will no longer appear. The record of the sealing is still preserved in the temple records. For more information, please see the link to the Knowledge Article below:

    Kevin,

Can you explain how I can find the contact information for the person who added the marriage of Albert Brown Thomas to Lucy Eleanor Diadem Richardson?

    Bryan,

This explanation makes sense. I will share this information with my aunt. If I'm understanding you correctly, it make sense to remove Lucy from Albert's tree, correct?
