It would help if you would share the batch number of the records you are indexing so we can give a better answer.

I am working on US—Bureau of Land Management Tract Books 1800 to 1955

What does the "Dr" stand for at the top of the page on the left hand side? In some cases it is also included in the names down below - prior to the land and section the person is applying for or purchasing. At first I thought it was a title for doctor or a prefix of some sort, but all these people cannot be doctors. Should I include it when indexing or reviewing these records? US—Bureau of Land Management Tract Books, 1800–1955 [Part D][M3VD-H7Z]

@gayleirenebutt1 The Dr on those is an accounting abbreviation for Debit. Cr is the abbreviation for Credit. You should ignore Dr.

@mleecox The only time we index titles like Dr Miss Mrs Mr Capt Rev Fr, etc. is when there is a prefix or a title field. Otherwise they are ignored. We only index Jr, Sr, III, etc. when there is a suffix field.
