How do I edit 'Helper Access'
Hello, all. I attempted to edit Helper Access due to the fact that I do not want to allow other people to help me with my ancestor search. Reason is, members have been helping me to delete family members, copy my postings/stories and pictures from Ancestry and FindAGrave, and generally add errors to my family records. I tried to delete my 'helper number', but I am not allowed. I actually never asked for help. This is a process and, at times, it takes me a while to work on certain ancestors. Contributions are not welcome when someone actually does not contribute by adding mistakes. Some have agreed that they are not even related to me and my ancestors. How do I prevent members from contributing for just a while? Thank you.

The Family Tree on FamilySearch is an open-edit collaborative tree. Anybody can edit nearly anything; they do not need your helper number to do it.
(Your helper number can be used by someone with an LDS account to make edits in your name.)

The "new person page" now has a feature where you can leave an alert that creates a banner across the page to warn others about potential incorrect edits. This is under "Notes" and is only available on the new person page.
