Standardized places for Hawaii

Hawaii had different names depending on their status at the time. They were known as the Kingdom of Hawaii, the Republic of Hawaii, a Hawaii Territory and eventually the State of Hawaii in 1959.

From what I can see, these different "Hawaii's" are not always reflected in the Standardized places listed. I have discovered this when putting in these places depending on the date. It would be helpful to know specifically when these time frames were too to be as accurate as possible.

Thank you.😀

You can request new places or improvements to places by going to: https://www.familysearch.org/research/places/?pagenum=1&pagesize=20

It can take quite a while to get things changed in the Places database, so in the meantime, be sure to enter to most accurate place name you can and then link that to the closest standard. You are not limited to entering only the standard.
