Why can't edit of late when the source is indexed wrong?

In the past week, I have tried to make an edit, such as person clearly listed on census as domestic was read as "daughter" by the indexer, so that it would have been very easy to click on "add." When 'edit' button was located, it said "not available."

Not all sources have the edit button enabled. Editing is a relatively new option on FamilySearch, and not all fields in all records can be edited. More options are coming, according to what I've read.
