Could you change the Preferred tag to have the option of selecting neither of the spouses or parents
You have a Preferred tag associated with multiple spouses or multiple different sets of parents. The way it is now, we can check which spouse is preferred. Sometime none of them are "preferred", so could you modify this so that not checking any of the spouses is an okay response that the system will accept.
Also, it would be helpful if when we modified a Marriage event by adding a divorce date, then the divorce is the most current event, but the Marriage date still shows. Could you modify it so that the most current event shows ( divorce in this example), but the earlier Marriage date still shows when you bring up the Marriage detail page, but shows with divorce showing first since it is the most recent status of the relationship.
Thank you,
Jerry Erickson

The main thing the "preferred" setting does is determine which of multiple spouses or parents appear when a pedigree chart is first loaded. All of them are still on the Pedigree chart and there are buttons there to switch between them. If that "preferred" setting were "none" then I suppose the pedigree chart would just pick one of the spouses or one of the parents, probably the first one entered, to display.
Are you concerned with the term? Would you have it say "Display on Pedigree" or something else?
It does also determine which couple has children showing when you come to the person's detail page if the person has more than one spouse. This is less of an important function on the new person pages since you can sent those to always show all the children.

And the preferred setting is easily changed. In fact I have an adopted relative with 3 sets of parents, because birth mom and birth dad married other people. I switch the preferred parents to match which side I am working on - birth mom or birth dad.
