Sealing to parents
Often the sealing to parents has been eliminated when new parents are added or a person is merged, or whatever the reason; so the message indicates the sealing is valid, but I can't see who those parents were originally. If I could see who those parents were, then when bad merges are made and undone, then I'd be able to see if the sealing was for the parents who are the parents. That way I'm not inclined to redo the sealing. Is it possible to do that?
Thanks,
Nancy Sharp

As another user, I'm not sure why those disconnected parents can't be displayed, but you can generally fix this now. By going back through the change log and finding all the parents the person has ever had, both the the current individual and all people merged into the person, then tracking forward to see what happened to all these parents, you can usually find the problem. Most of the time it arises because a child was detached from correct parents during a merge instead of the parents being merged after the children were merged.
Completing proper merges for all of the parents will fix the ordinance page.
Going through the change log this way also lets to see if the problem was due to incorrect merges. If so, you can pull out the person that should not have been merged in, reunite the person with his or her parents, and fix the problem that way.
Getting very familiar with the Change Log is an important skill in Family Tree.
