Ancestry Sources
I work in both FamilySearch and Ancestry at the same time with a split screen on my computer. One thing I have noticed is FamilySearch and Ancestry format sources differently. When I am passing sources between the two sites I realized I am duplicating sources that are on both sites because of the format difference.
It would be nice if both sites could standardize the sources format, and have them read between the two site to eliminate the duplication.

That would be a huge task given how many different records both sites hold. And, then you have Find My Past, MyHeritage, and many others. Would you ask all to format the same way? Who's the boss who will say "everybody must format like X"?

@Russ Armstrong It's not likely that different providers will standardize Sources/citations (paid access sites will arrange collections differently according to company formats/goals) - but if attaching duplicates in FamilySearch Family Tree - that is a great service to those other providers (as they partner with FamilySearch - meaning it could/would help each partner to duplicate/sync 'your tree' more easily - essentially building the Record Hints/Suggestions).

I agree that the duplication of sources from Ancestry.com into Family Tree is excessive, especially for collections that are common, such as US Census, SSDI, Utah Marriages, WWII Draft Registration, Western States Marriage Index, etc. In many cases, it makes the sources in Family Tree very hard to navigate.

Ancestry has a share feature that I use. It works very nicely in FamilySearch. Thus, I think the standardization feature has already been accomplished.
