I am searching for the parents of William Blalock born between 1780 and 1788 either NC or SC He died in Collinsville, Illinois by 1850 of Winter Fever ( Pneumonia)

His wife was always ONLY KNOWN AS Mrs. Blalock They were in KY 1820 census. KY did not have info on the wife of William EVER. No one knows who William's parents were

No one knows who Mrs Blalock was she may have been born around 1795 possibly TN

In the 1840 census in St Clair, Illinois, William and his wife were there with the youngest kids. My Elizabeth Blalock married John Holt in 1837 They moved to Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois. We know the rest of the story from that point to the present time.

William Blalock ( WE) have a lot of different Blalock's that we match mostly in NC going back to Elizabeth Mourning Green and Thomas Blalock Sr. Sure could use some help figuring all this out ( Could not find a marriage record anywhere for William Blalock and MRS BLALOCK !!! A Jeremiah Blalock was in Bowling Green, KY in 1804 he just got married and stayed there for about 3 years he came from TN born 1797 in NC His father was a David Blalock

if any of this helps !

Thank you,

Barbara Hawkins You can contact me via Familysearch.org My tree is on there

That is early to find marriage records in NC and SC. Try looking at probate files; you may find Mrs. Blalock's maiden name if she is mentioned in her father's will. Church records (may be called Vestry Books) may have references to the baptism of their children; you may get her given name there, but not necessarily her maiden/birth surname. Look at deeds/land records; you may find witnesses who are family members, for a hint of a birth surname.

Do thorough research on her children and grandchildren - BMD, county histories, pensions, newspapers, etc. Check for deeds, if her husband sold land, she had to release her dower and will be named. I don't know how many times I have found the wife's name through land records!
