Uploading GEDCOM file does not appear
I created an account for my wife and want to upload her family tree. I created a GEDCOM and tried to upload, which it did and I did the compare, I then I added several of the people to the tree by clicking on the plus. It says there are already records in the file. However, then when I click on tree I only find her name and nothing in the pedigree. I am frustrated and confused on how this works..
Any clues?
Thanks

One thought, if her parents are living, the gedcom will not move or match living people so you might need to create profiles for living people to link into the deceased people in the tree.

I think Cindy is on the right track: the existence of profiles matching (or potentially matching) some of the people in your file does not, by itself, create a link (relationship) between those profiles and your wife's profile.
The compare-and-add process has many faults, in my opinion, and one of the most glaring ones is the lack of clarity: even for someone very familiar with the Tree, it's hard to tell what's going on in those screens. It's nearly impossible to see what is actually in the Tree and what exactly is in one's file.
I find it's much better -- and less work, in the long run -- to add information from a genealogy file "manually". Use the information from your uploaded file (it's in Search - Genealogies) to update or add to the Family Tree. You can open them each in their own browser tabs and see exactly what's where; if you see a gap in the Family Tree, you can open a third tab and use Tree - Find to search for what's in your Genealogies file, and add relationships by ID if you find a match.

Thanks for your replies Cindy and Julia. I thought that I uploaded my GEDCOM file to the site quite awhile ago, so is this something new? When I am logged on to my site, I can open up my tree and see my Pedigree, including my name, etc..just fine. However, when I open my wife's and go to family tree, I just see her name and it does not expand to a pedigree any further. I did notice that all the names are in there although there are some that are invalid, saying they are living....and it is assuming some are still living and they are not so Im not sure how to resolve that (I probably dont have a death date for them) Anyway, first things first...Im not sure of everything you are saying here. Does this mean I have to manually add her tree, but then if shes living It still won't show a pedigree. I guess I am confused.
Thanks
Bruce

In order for your wife's profile to show relationships in a chart view, you need to add those relationships. Since she is living, the GEDCOM compare-and-add process will not find or add them. It does not transfer any data about living people. (The upload function is highly literal-minded: if your genealogy software did not explicitly mark a profile as "deceased", then FS's process will treat it as "living", regardless of whether that's humanly possible or not.)
