Temple Ready Name Group Sharing
I would love to participate on a think tank group talking about Shared Family Groups.
First Congratulations on Groups feature! Groups have been the most helpful way ever created for me to share Temple Ready names with my family. I love that others can share the link also.
As a person who has found thousands of Danish names, My Group, has the potential to be the wonderful solution to getting those names to the Temple in a uniting and family connected, organized manner! Exciting!
Practical application:
I am discouraged as thousands of names drop off my saved list. Of course, I want to share these names and spread the blessings. But I also have a strong desire to make sure the names are taken to the Temple!!! As names drop off our Family History Groups and/or Reserved Names lists, my friends are making long handwritten lists of these names to make certain names we spend years finding, actually get taken to the Temple in a timely manner. This has taken us back to paper list era or taking the time to create a google sheet tracking names on our own.
Possible Changes or Solutions:
Temple Ready Names I added to Family Search, which expire can be automatically placed into a list where I can easily still track, view, share with group, and reserve again. Who wants to spend more time re-finding the names, than we did researching those names:)
Create a way to thank family members for doing Temple work in your Group. Currently, I see what Temple the work has been completed inside. So I can guess who has done the work. And I text my Sisters thanking them. I live in Saint George and my Temple has been closed, so I am extra grateful. If privacy matters, how about just a thank you button:)
Create easy ways to join a Temple Reservation Group. Perhaps when you are trying to reserve a family name already reserved, a button next to the name to message the person who reserved the name (You may be able to do this now but it is not clear for new users)?
Create a button option next to a reserved Temple Name, offering to join the group the Temple Name has been shared with. This button takes you to the owner of the group's personal message board and has the unique identification of a Temple Group icon. For quick replies or automatic replies/prompts welcoming and message the person who wants to join the group and do our Temple work. I see a great back-and-forth conversation happening. Uniting family who desire to go to the Temple:) Create another option to message your whole Temple group for a family meet-up Temple Sessions.
Thank you kindly for your dedication to this the Lord's gathering work. Any technology solution or change we should ask?
Is this change making the work of Family Gathering easier, more connected and quicker? I believe in one-click solutions if possible. In my business, every unnecessary click was an extra hire.
Is this solution or update facilitating family connections and helpful to track our family and complete our own family Temple work?
We are so blessed to live in inspired times, thank you so much!

There are two types of temple reservations that expire.
There are the two year reservations which you have personally reserved. When these expire, they are not lost in any way. They simply move to your Shared with the Temple list. You can find them there and any close relative using Ordinances Ready has a high chance of being given one of those names.
There are 120 day reservation that you took off someone else's shared with the temple list who wanted to get those reservations done promptly. By taking those reservations and not getting them completed within 120 days you actually may have prevented someone else who would have gotten those ordinances from Ordinances Ready from getting those done.
The one-click solution that is already in place to get your relatives ordinances done promptly is Ordinances Ready.

You can also keep track of ancestor names by adding them to your following list, with labels. Thus taking the place of a paper list.
