How fo I index abbreviated names?

I have seen several names that were abbreviated in a way that I cannot type. For example, "Mª" for "Maria" or "Francª" for "Francisca". The project instructions say not to expand abbreviations, so do I index "Ma" or "Mª"?

Please give the project name and batch code in brackets [XXXX-111] so that helpers can see what you see. "Ma" for example, could be "Margaretta" as well as Maria or any number of names beginning with M & ending with a or even just a flourish of the pen when writing an M in cursive

    The batch is here: https://www.familysearch.org/indexing/batch/74f961a3-30ac-4ed9-9c79-c64372dc2203

I have noticed this in a lot of Spanish-language batches
