When accessing My Contributions, Stats and Changes seems to be working just fine. However, when I click on Private People, it will not populate and my computer becomes frozen. I have reset FamilySearch Cookies as well as deleted history. I am using Google Chrome. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you, Rayleen Barnes

Restart your machine and try a different browser. Does this happen when viewing deceased people?

I have restarted my computer and used Firefox and I still have the same issue. This does not happen when I am viewing deceased people.

Do you have "Private People" clicked? If so private people show up as question marks and not as people with names. Our other suggestion would be to call us at 866-406-1830 so we can view what you see.

Thank you, I will call about this issue. It seems to be something with my Microsoft account as I can view private people on my iPhone and iPad, however, when I use my desktop and notebook, I have the same issue, of the names not populating and eventually freezing up my computer. So far, this seems to be the only issue that I am experiencing on FamilySearch.

So here is what I found out about the above situation. I did contact FamilySearch on Friday. They were able to go on as my helper and saw what I had been experiencing. Because of the heavy backlog of people on my private list, the program was timing out and then crashing. However, if I waited long enough the program would come back on but very very slowly. My private people had many names that were born in the 1800's (over 60) who were listed as living. Most of them were duplicate records that had been added in 2012. The program is still running slower, however, as I continue to clean up my names it seems to run a little faster. Thank you!
