Famous Relatives
It seems that the Famous relatives feature is somewhat US/English centric. I have both of my parents in my tree, but ALL of the famous relatives are through my dad's side of the tree.
Buzz Aldrin had Swedish ancestors, as did my mom, In fact, they both had ancestors from the same village in Sweden, and my mom has a DNA match with the last name Aldrin, from that part of Sweden. (I haven't figured out the connection yet.) Why not add some famous people with ancestry from other places?
While I'm at it, why is Daniel Boone not on the list of famous relatives?
Thanks!

I'm having the same issue. ALL of my famous relatives are through my Dad even though both of my parents are in my tree.
How do we get our mother's side of famous people? I know there has to be someone on her side!

According to FS's Famous Relatives activity, I have no famous relatives.
I find it perplexing that people seem to feel that they're entitled to a certain share of them on both sides.
(Although I wouldn't mind if the activity were brought in line with the "show relationship" algorithm, so that I wouldn't need to fiddle with things in Beta to verify that The Famous Relative is, in fact, on the list.)

My wachlist of relatives is overflowing (4000 people) and there are way more than the same again that I have dealt with (so somewhere around the 10,000 mark) and still not one of them rich or famous.

I share the impression, that familysearch has marked mainly British and Americans as famous. For example I can find my relationship with the philosopher Friedrch Nitzsche and the composer Felix Mendelsson-Bartholdy in the familytree, but they are not shown in the selection of "famous relatives"

FamilySearch is a US based company, and so of course the people putting it together would have a bias towards people who are famous in the US. It's not really their fault, or it wasn't during the initial launch of the activity. How were they supposed to know who is famous elsewhere?
At the same time, it feels like it should have been filled out more by now. Do we even know for sure if they've added anyone since launch? I haven't noticed anyone new appear on mine over the years.
The activities in general are, I assume, incredibly low priority for the engineers, which is completely warranted. It's far from being the most important part of the site. But surely they could add names to the list once every few months or something.

My maternal family has been in the USA since long before it was the USA. I'll be happy to share some of my famous/infamous relatives with those who are lacking same. Yes, my tongue is firmly in cheek again.
If only I could repair the spelling of Marie-Antoinette in the Famous Relatives.
