I seek to get my photos into chronological order
I click Filter, but when I go to add the date (and place) in the right-hand column for individual photos, the slot has changed in color and size of print and there is no way for me to enter these anymore. I notice that when I click on the face of each person in the photo also, the usual box and name, though they have been previously added, do not show, either.

It is certainly frustrating when websites don't work the way it appears they should. Can you tell me more about this problem? Maybe add a screenshot or two to show us what is happening?
Are you working on a computer, laptop, phone or tablet?
Are you working on memories in a person's page or from your Gallery?
Are the memories ones that you have uploaded or are they ones that someone else has uploaded? You can only add dates and locations to memories you have uploaded, so ones that may have been uploaded by others will still show out of order on a person's memories page until the submitter adds a date and location to them.
Also, on the box and name for tagging each person, when you click on the image, it creates a new face tagging box. To see the ones already created, just hover your mouse pointer over the person's face and the tag will show up.
