I am a service missionary and I am just starting to index these records. When using the most recent date I understand that would be the date of sale or date of the patent. I believe that is correct. but I was told if the sale was relinquished or sold we only select the date of sale. Is that your understanding as well?

Also for the "Other" names on the record. There are names listed with the patent date on some of these sales. Do their names get indexed in the Other portion of the entry?

Finally, there are repeated words I do not understand their meanings:

Huron?

on the 4th sale, what is the meaning of "FC Us 974"?

Hi, There seems to be a few issues with the instructions for this project. The instructions for the different parts (A B C or D) are not the same so depending on the part you are working on the answer could be different. Also in part D the field instruction for date contradicts the example given in the instructions.

It is my understanding that the names in other areas of the record should be indexed.

    Huron is a county name.

    FC stands for final certificate.

    Sorry I didn't really answer your question.🙂

You should share the batch code to get the most precise answers. As Larry says, each part of the project has different instructions and field helps.
