I cannot locate the original tree I started, so I can make changes to it.

Hi, thanks for the great information. I was adopted @ birth & found a free site that you can download your Raw DNA to, they have what they call Adoption Angels that help adoptees figure out their family tree, for free, all you do is download your DNA & give permission for one of the "Angels" to get your DNA results.I got lucky, within a few days she had my family tree figured out. I had some information about where I came from & it confirmed the information that my biological mother told the adoption agency. Just in case anyone might get excited about getting theirs figured out as fast as I did, please don't, not all results could be that easily figured out. I also did 3 different DNA companies.... 23&Me, Ancestry, & My Heritage. I gave them my Ancestry results, as they are the biggest site.
I sure hope this might help anyone who was adopted & has no clue where they came from.

Hello. My great great grandfather had my grandfather out of wedlock. I think I have found out who he was. They did not marry and both went on to marry other people. The guy I think is my ancestor had 5 children with his new wife. How can I connect my DNA with his decendants by this other woman to prove his is my ancestor and how do I go about it? I did my DNA test through Ancestry, and there are thousands of matches but I dont know how or if I can connect with this family.

There seem to be a number of sites that claim to help. Some claim free but then seem to want to charge fees. How do you know which one is legit, secure, and actually helpful. I did not see a link to the service you claim was successful in your actual search.
Was it dnangels.org ? Does familysearch or ancestry promote any service to help adoptees? So we know they are legit and worth talking to for help.
