Indexing Ukrainian letters in Russian batches

Hi, I'm trying to index a batch from the Российская империя (Украина), Киевские исповедные ведомости collection. I keep running into the occasional usage of Ukrainian "i" in place of Russian "и". Do I default to Russian spellings or record what I see?

Thanks!

You should record what you see, unless it is a field where the field helps say to "correct misspellings or expand abbreviations". We never change the spelling of a given or surname, or expand an abbreviation.

Thanks for your help! I'm slowly but surely learning how to navigate all the indexing tools and field helps.
