I was just notified that a picture of my Step Father would be deleted after 30 days because it did not meet appropriate standards. What's up with that?

In most cases you simply reply to the email with three words "Restricted in Error"
and 9/10 times that will get it released.
Keep in mind there is a automated - non human - AI detection process that tries to detect inappropriate items - but it is very imperfect - as any non human process would be.
if you reply to the email - you will get a real person to look at the item.
