First, I love what FamilySearch has done with the community forums. Kudos to y'all!!

Second, any chance for a Slovak community? I belong to several groups on social media and there are some very knowledgable folks there. I'd love to see that develop here. It is not an easy area to research as boundaries moved like they did in Germany. Also, the Slovak community, at least here in America, is very strong in certain locations.

I'd love to see this happen sometime in the future.

There are actually 2 groups in which Slovak falls...I found a second. https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/252-eastern-european-research

The challenge for us Eastern European researchers and these huge regional groups is that it's like having a single group for Western European Research. The language, the culture are different. Even in the small region in Slovakia that I'm interested in, there are Rusyns and Slovaks...and culturally, religiously, linguistically... they're not the same. I love FamilySearch and have been a FamilySearch service missionary/volunteer. There is definitely a Western European bias in research that they've been slowly trying to address.
