UK, England, Cumberland—Parish Registers, 1590–1960 [Part A] [MQ3H-3X3]
In this birth record after the father's first and last names are given it states the first name of his wife followed by (late Molineux). Am I to assume the name after "late" is her maiden name.
All items in the record follow the same pattern.
Thank you for helping me to understand.

@Lorrie Ruth Maughan Riches I checked a few names indexed by Ancestry and found the child surname matched the father : example of child John Blain; father Joseph Blain; mother surname indexed as Molineux Blain --- this follows FS General Indexing Guidelines in years past ---and yes, the name in parentheses after "late" in the mother's maiden name --- from https://www.archives.norfolk.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/family-history/parishes-and-churches/parish-registers/information-given-in-parish-registers I found lots of helpful information about old English/Great Britain/United Kingdom Parish Registers.😎
