1880 US Census won't attach
I have repeatedly tried to attach the census image with the following citation, without success. Is there a glitch in the system? I am a very experienced Family Tree user. Please help.
"United States Census, 1880," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9YBJ-9SFH?cc=1417683&wc=X4ZY-PTL%3A1589394781%2C1589412100%2C1589412153%2C1589396285 : 24 December 2015), Pennsylvania > Allegheny > Allegheny > ED 25 > image 2 of 55; citing NARA microfilm publication T9, (National Archives and Records Administration, Washington, D.C., n.d.)

Pam, that is great! There were no hiccups for me to attach so I thought I would give steps. I never know users' capabilities when I am helping out. I am so glad it worked for you.

To which individual are you trying to attach this record? Can you provide the ID?

John Peter Braun GSS1-N2C
This is the write-up I was trying to attach as the reason.
1880 US Census showing family #12- living at 34 Troy Hill Road, along with 2 other families. Margaretha Braun, age 56, widowed, keeping house, born in Prussia, father born in Prussia, mother born in Holland; her son Johann, age 19, single, without occupation, dispeptic, born in Pennsylvania, both parents born in Prussia; her daughter Aana, age 18, single, does tailoring work, born in Pennsylvania, both parents born in Prussia.
NOTE: This is the same address, in the same 8th Ward of Allegheny City, in which Johann or John Peter Braun, newly married, is seen in the 1900 US Census with his wife Martha, and a boarder Albert Braun (born 2 1/2 years after John Peter and very likely his brother). This is good evidence that this is the same Johann/John Peter Braun with his mother Margaretha and sister Aana.
Thanks so much for your help!!!

I clicked on the Image Index and chose Attach for his name. It sent me to the source linker. Then you can enter the ID in the Possible Matches or in the History List. Here you can see that that he is in my 'recents' so he shows up in the history list. You can click Select to the right of his name to compare and attach.
If you cannot complete these steps, please share what you are seeing. I would be happy to attach the source for you if you need.

Another way, which can be much easier, is to attach to him from the record page at https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MW6Z-T3Y

I don't know what the difference was, but I am very experienced in attaching sources. I've attached 100's. Note all the other sources I had already attached to John Peter Braun. I had followed your exact steps from the census image multiple times and always got a message saying "error linking to source" inside a pink? rectangular box. I also had tried muliple times from the search results page, also getting the same error message. That's why I suspected there was some sort of glitch that the engineers needed to fix.
I tried again just now, after getting your message, doing the same things I had done before, and FINALLY it worked! So, the engineers must have fixed the glitch. :)
I very much appreciate your efforts to help me!
Thanks a lot! Pam :)

I'm grateful for all of you that volunteer your expertise to help solve our problems in the Family Tree. I've turned to the community several times to solve problems requiring special access to hidden information.
Thanks again for all you do, and your help with this current problem.
