Hello everyone,

I'm new here and I would like to know if it is possible to open an image that shows "Image Unavailable - This image is unavailable for online viewing at this time".

It's a christening record from my great-grandmother. From the city of La Unión, parish of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, records of christening ("Bautismos") of 1905-1906, from Spain. I don't know which image within, I was going to search for her information on the file in the first place.

Citation: "España, registros parroquiales y diocesanos, 1307-1985," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6PC7-SV1?cc=1784529&wc=9PR8-82W%3A141480201%2C163981901%2C152199002%2C154249501 : 8 July 2014), Murcia > La Unión > Nuestra Señora de los Dolores > Bautismos 1905-1906 > image 1 of 310; paróquias Católicas, Spain (Catholic Church parishes, Spain).

Thank you very much in advance.

Pedro

    Welcome to FamilySearch!

    In the Catalog it shows indeed that these records are restricted to film viewing at FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, Utah (if those icons are still accurate):

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/606341?availability=Family%20History%20Library

    I also could not locate any 1905-1906 christenings for the area in Search> Images - but their are some christening records from earlier:

    https://www.familysearch.org/records/images/beta/search-results?place=8150524&recordTypeIds=126314&lifeEvent=127183&lifeEventRecordTypes=103612%2C123402%2C129555%2C129558&page=1

    I suspect the film is restricted due to contract with the record custodian. So you could try contacting them directly:

    @Pedro7938

    I am not connected with FamilySearch

    The catalogue reference is as quoted by genthusiast and the relevant digitised microfilm seems to be

    Bautismos 1905-1923 Family History Library Film 1543003 DGS 4457541

    I think the most likely reason the film is restricted is that it contains baptismal records to 1923, so all images on the film are restricted. Perhaps the film will become unrestricted in 2024, when all the baptismal records will be at least one hundred years old.

    Perhaps you could try the look up service, as your record of interest is over 100 years ago

    Hi MaureenE123 and Genthusiast, thank you so much for your quick responses and the tips and help! I sent a request to the Look Up Service and will try to contact the custodian of the files, maybe it works.

    Thanks again =)
