Edits on indexed records
I recently found a marriage record where the male had been mistakenly indexed as a female, which caused problems when trying to attach the record to both individuals. I reviewed the possible edits for the indexed record, but I was unable to find where or the ability to fix the sex field. Is there an option to do that?

Generally no, sex or gender are not yet among the fields that are editable on FamilySearch. We've been promised that eventually, the function will extend to all fields of editable indexes, but right now, we have to be happy that anything is correctable.
Source Linker can always be convinced to attach index entries to the desired profiles; it just may take a few thwacks upside the head (usually in the form of copious use of the "change" option on both sides).

As Julia Szent-Györgyi stated, the field to change the sex or gender on the record view for the image below is not available currently for the users to fix. You could call the FamilySearch Help line to get it fixed, but you don't necessarily need to worry about it. Allow me to describe a few ways to approach this problem.
I'd go back to the source linker for the record you're working on to view what looks like something below. In this view, there are three ways I know of that allow you to get the person attached correctly.
1) Moving records and people: You can drag people on the right and records on the left to the correct individuals. This is the most effective way I know of that can fix problems.
2) Duplicate and merge: This is by far the most time consuming out of the available options, as it requires you to make a duplicate, change the sex of the duplicate, and then merge it to your person.
3) Person Changer: This is by far the only one useful by known marriages, as you can change the person you are viewing to the correct person. You can then move the record to the person.
3b) Spouse Support: I linked the two as they work quite similarly. Instead of clicking change, there is an arrow next to the spouse, stating that you can change it to any and all of the spouses of the main listed person. This is the only arrow pointing at the record of the individual. From there, you can select the spouse you wish to use.
