Am I only able to add audio to photos I have uploaded myself?

I was trying to teach some others how you are able to add audio to photos on FamilySearch and noticed that if I wasn't the contributor for a photo, the audio option is not available.

I have attached two photos - one where the microphone is showing (and I'm the contributor) and another where it is not. (I tried checking the 3 dots but only "Details" and "Report Abuse" are available there)

Is there some other reason I cannot record audio that I have overlooked?

You are correct that only the person who added the photo or document to Family Tree can add an audio to that memory. See this help article

You can record yourself or someone else telling a brief story (up to five minutes) about a photo or document that you uploaded to FamilySearch.
