How do I start a family group?

From your account page, on familysearch.org, not here in the community, click your name and select Family Groups from the dropdown menu.

Thanks for that. Subsequently, I've read the related articles, as hitherto I've been unaware as to what they actually were and how they operated. (Must have missed the Blog article at the time of introduction.)
The idea probably wouldn't suit me - I certainly wouldn't want to set up any myself - but I guess I might accept an invitation if invited to join a Family Group. Not quite keen on the fact I could be kicked-out if the administrator considered I wasn't abiding by group rules, though!
This has certainly made me see more clearly where you are coming from in some of your recent suggestions on the future of Family Tree. I should have carried out some reading beforehand, though am still wary of a group possibly having more editing rights than an "outsider" working on a family branch being "overseen" by that group.
I'm sure these groups will work fine in some cases, although I have general reservations about "projects within a (main) project". Only time will tell - maybe from reports that will be made on this forum - whether this feature might prove to be divisive rather than constructive.

@Paul W Someone posted here a few weeks ago, having problems creating one. I tested it with a research friend, to make sure it worked, but we haven't yet made use of it.

@Paul W Thanks for looking a little more carefully. In my opinion no - it doesn't give any 'more edit rights' - it could just expose where and how many agree with particular profile conclusions/artifacts - it doesn't change open-edit at all! Obviously if you are making a conclusion change - you don't agree with the prior conclusion. All this Idea would do would residually expose that 'on the conclusion/artifact changes' - so yes more collaborative interaction 'possibly'.
