Johannesburg Cemetery Registers Project
For people getting stuck on this project re Cemetery name / column headings etc, here is a self help for you to try and decode some of the mysteries with this project:
In your open batch, go to top left corner of menu that shows "batch" dropdown.
Click on it to open dropdown, then click "About"
Under image name, copy the first 9 digits
Go to this link https://www.familysearch.org/records/images/search-results?creator=City%20Parks%20Joburg&page=1
On left hand side you will see this. Scroll to box that says image group number and paste the number you copied from your batch and press the blue "update" button. You will get the result of that film number in right hand of screen
In most cases it will list the cemetery name. If not you will have to record burial place as either a generic Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa for pre 1994 records, or Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa for post 1994 records. Mouse over the result and you will get a blue hyperlink to click on, which will open up the film to explore further to see if a cemetery name or column headings etc are shown in image 1.
To see the image from your batch or to look for missing reference images within, from your about batch make note of the last numbers. This is your image you are indexing
Type the digits in the image box and enter
Hopefully this will help in clearing some of the confusion with this project as there is so much lack of info covered in PI and what is visible

How or where are the birth dates, burial dates, etc? Most of my batch is for refixing the tombstone, and none of that info is there.
