Census issue
Hi all,
I don't know where to put this as I can't find a way to report an error anywhere.
So here goes.
I found a relative in a 1906 census for Copenhagen, Denmark.
However, when viewing the original document, the names on the page are a completely different family. Upon looking at other pages in the census, I find the same is true for many (might be all).
This hasn't happened before, but it is very strange.
How does a whole street census get indexed wrong with completely different families/names?
I've gone through the entire original source for that particular street in 1906 and they aren't even there. They don't live on that street in 1906.
So the names indexed for Blågårdsgade in Copenhagen in 1906 are all people who do not live there.
What do I do about this and how do I go about telling the right people about this massive error?
Thanks for your time!
The page where my family (Hovmann) are supposed to be living.
The people on the page are called Møller & Mørch.
*EDIT:
I have since discovered that they did in fact live at Amagerbrogade 255. Not at Blågårdsgade 32, which is an address that doesn't show up on the list of addresses for the father of the family. It lists everywhere he lived between 1893 and 1909, and Blågårdsgade isn't there at all.

It was probably indexed mostly correctly -- but not from that image. As in, the association between index entries and the images they came from is off or wrong, probably due to a typo somewhere.

I would love for that to be correct, but wouldn't the people on the previous and following pages also be from Amagerbrogade then?
They're not. At all.
I feel like Amagerbrogade->Blågårdsgade is a pretty big typo :-/
And how do I go about telling the right people so it can be looked into and fixed?

In many (most?) indexes, the location information is pulled from the film's metadata, so if the entries have been associated with the wrong film, then all of the locations will be wrong. The typo is in a number somewhere, but I haven't been able to figure out which one.
It looks like Amagerbrogade is on film 103919715, but most of the images I looked at had correct indexes associated with them, so I don't know where your Hovmanns are hiding.

The images and index were provided by MyHeritage. You might want to get in touch with MyHeritage to see about corrections.
Another option is to browse the images on film 103919715. It could be a time-consuming search, unfortunately.
