How do you keep a memory from switching to a different memory when you are trying to label or make ?

Every time I try to add labels to my pictures, or expand it, it keeps changing to another memory. How do I keep it still so I can just label all the people in the picture before it changes to another picture? Sometimes I have to enlarge the picture to be able to see each individuals and next thing you know the picture is gone and something else is there. It seems to be hyper sensitive.
