Sample photos in project instructions seldom show a record like the one I am indexing. Why?

I understand there are probably too many different kinds of records to show ever single one, but it is interesting that I have yet to see a sample photo similar to the record I am trying to index. If reference images of the before and after screens do not show column headings either, should I just return the batch? I would do more, but there just is not enough help for these records.

South Africa, Johannesburg—Cemetery Records, 1942–2020 [Part F][MQ3F-TVT]

I would really appreciate additional instructions.

It seems to be a trend with FS, that their project instructions always have the very most basic example they can find. This Joburg project is already being published in parts with so much garbage because there are so many varied documents between each cemetery, each with their own particular nuances, which are not described in the PI, and open to interpretation as indexers see fit. Like you say, often reference images do not help, and seldom any reference images are available to view, and the film numbers cannot be found as they have not yet been added to the FS catalog/image search to go back through the respective film to check. In your example, column 2 is date of burial, 5 is persons initials, 6 is surname, 7 is date of birth, 8 is date of death. As cemetery is not known, best you can do is enter a generic place of: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa for post 1994 burials, or Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa for pre 1994 burials. All you can do is try your best per batch, and if not sure return it and hope the next person doesnt mess it up
